It's so close to a 3/8" you could probably flare a -an tube nut onto the stock nipples like I did for the power steering fitting.

Here is an idea of how it ends up. (I flared a 5/8" tube nut onto either a 16 or 17mm tube don't recall which size it was and it worked out well)

Jegs has them for only $1.99 for a 2/pk of nuts, and $1.99 for a 2/pk of the required tubes.

99GS3, the way you have your PS pump setup is similar to mine. Only difference is that I welded on a AN-10 steel bung onto that oem adapter/union piece. I guess having a TIG welder in the garage comes in handy lol.

Yeah I would have preferred to put a male fitting on it so that the 90 hose end would mate right to it, instead I'm using a male-male 90 then the straight hose end connects to it, so there will be one extra fitting.

A Tig would be sweet to have sometimes, I've got a Mig with a miller aluminum spoolgun and the gas tanks for aluminum and stainless. Although not quite as pretty on aluminum as a Tig but works fine for what I've done in the past. I'd buy a plasma before I upgraded to a Tig, since I'm going to be building a new frame to stock floor bd my bagged ranger after the gs motor swap is done and the plasma would come in handy.

I have been buying most of the -an fittings locally at a speed shop as they price match their fittings with jegs/summit, and since those two places charge like $10 flat shipping per order which is a good deal but not when you need 1 fitting The shop didn't have any male steel bungs in stock they only had aluminum so I tried out the tube nut they had instead.

And Jeff on another note:

So I've got the ps pump fluid input and the rack to reservoir return line done in braided line. I've been debating on the ps pressure feed. Have you converted this line? I ask because I wonder what you think about replacing it? I know it will need to be a crimped hydro hose, but see the hard lines are bent around the rack to act as a small cooler, and there is also a sensor/valve of some type in the middle of the hard line right at the rack (not the vac valve on the banjo bolt at the pump). If replacing this hard line should a small row cooler be needed for a street car? And is this valve inline what the gs steering ecu I've seen talked about is controlling?

I don't think the vacuum booster valve thing is controlled by the ecu unless the car is a 02+ model. I worked on older 2GS and the booster is just a manual valve, on the newer ones there is no vacuum hose going to it. It's all just done through the ECU and it adds like 1-2% to the throttle plate opening temporarily. I think what the steering ecu is actually controlling is the valve or solenoid on the steering rack you speak of. That regulates pressure in the steering system.

I was thinking earlier today can I use a Manual Trans Radiator if I add an external oil cooler? would I be loosing more cooling efficiency of the oem cooler + external cooler or will it be the same just adding an external cooler?

Thanks
Joel

Sure you can do that. As long as you have a cooler of some sort you should be fine, but if your turbo and really pushing the trans you will want to make sure your cooling effectively, you could use a cooler with fan on it to help alot. I would put on a thermostat in the trans fluid line for the fan so you don't overcool it during cold months and low load situations.

Alright Sakataj, got your fittings finished.. Wasn't too bad, but was a bit tricky to do the angled one.

Fun to see if I could make it work, let me know how your install turns out!

And just to have the info here if anyone else needs it, the Toyota part number for the O-Rings in the pic on the tranny side threads is 90301‑11006

per vince's request i am in the process of writing up a complete list of ALL the fittings i used and the O -rings/fittings you used. i will also do a complete flush before doing this. i just got in my 2 cases (24 quarts of tranny fluids) and i will try to figure out exactly how much this holds now. gonna try and get this done this week
