If your just looking for a mild performance boost, get either the Joe Z intake from L-tunedparts.com ($125 + shipping http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=2804 - comes in black, anondized blue, or polished) or just the F-sport intake pipe + couplers/clamps from Sewellparts.com ($149 + shipping http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2011/1853.html - must sign-in and register as CL member for discount pricing). Only thing you're going to miss out on is some more noise from the Fsport lower-box assembly. You could always add the lower box + filter later for another $200 (would work with either Joe Z or F-sport).

did anyone just do the lower intake box/filter ?

or do you also really need the upper box/chrome pipe too?

The upper pipe is the part that actually gives you the performance gain. (hence why the Joe Z will do just as well for 1/3-1/2 the cost if you only care about the hp gain)

The lower box just adds noise.

I am wondering if i can do joe z intake pipe, and add the fsport lower box with filter, would i need to buy the fsport Cold Air Hardware couplers/clamps? does the joe z have that already shown on ltunedparts?

http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=3296

if you purchase the joe z intake pipe, you do not need the clamps and sleeves from the f-sport set. the pipe itself comes with. if you're going about this, you can take a drill to your stock box and make your hole(s) which will give the same exact result: more sound.

the filter you are free to pick up whichever you wish. it might be worthwhile to pick up an HKS, K&N or f-sport filter since they're reusable with periodic cleaning. but to each their own. i myself just purchased the whole f-sport intake since i liked their welded f-sport logo ;p

My first MOD was the blue JOE Z intake pipe and a K&N drop in filter ( i know, i know...the possible oil damage) . Thus far It sounds a little angrier in the mid to high RPMS. And perhaps I've gained a few ponies. Over all I'm happy, I may just get another filter (TOMS) ...my 2 cents

Scheduled 5k service AND F-Sport Intake install. Dealer says $379 plus 10% off and about 60 to install. Can't wait to "hear" it.

should buy it online and install it there haha.
But I think they are charging 60 only because you are buying the part from them.
I called 3 places, they all quoted from 90-105.

Then I saw the DIY, and said screw that, and i did it myself ezpz!

How much noise does F-sport intake add comparing to F-sport exhaust?
