Default Aluminum radiator

i have a 01 is300 and of course its an auto. i want to get an aluminum radiator but there are none for the autos. i was wondering if it would be ok to use a manual aluminum radiator (most likely koyo) and run the tranny lines to a separate tranny cooler. from what i've seen, ppl run the lines to a separate cooler and then back to the stock radiator. Couldn't you just run the lines to a separate cooler? any input would be great. reason why i want an aluminum one is because my last one was missing chunks in the fin area causing car to overheat and don't want to have that happen again.
