No. Both times I got the 2800 stall TC for GS4. But I believe PI might have some QA issues with their products.

I'm 99% sure mine does. It came on back in 1999 not long after I had the SRT intake/ECU and TC installed, but was never sure which one caused the code. Now that the SRT intake is gone in place of the SC, the CEL is still on. I can reset the ECU and drive for a while (to get inspected, etc), but it eventually pops back on.

Default How many of you have a check engine light as a result of installing a torque

converter? Please post if you did this mod and have not had a CEL as well.

I'm 99.9% sure it's the TC too. Because after I put the stock TC back and reset the ECU. The CEL never came back up again. But I have installed the new PI TC for almost 3 years now. The CEL neven turns on again. I'm happy now

haha damnit, this is not helping, so on or off i know of two people here in norcal with tq con and they don't have cel

I had this mod done, I have not had the CEL. I have 22K and change now on my car!

OK, let's make it clear. I have installed 2 PI TC on my '99 GS4. One turned ON the CEL while the other did not. So I think the 1st TC I got might be a bad unit.
