Default IS350 Intake: K&N Typhoon vs InJen

So I need a little help on deciding which one to get. :]

When comparing the two intakes - sound wise, which one is louder? I've heard sound clips on the InJen SRT but I can't seem to find any on the K&N Typhoon.

I'm planning on selling my JoeZ soon, which I've only had for a little over 400 miles. I just thought it was waaaay too quiet for my taste.

If you guys could share your experiences with these intakes/reasons as why you think one is better than the other, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Do you have the complete kit? I've seen clips that were pretty loud.

Why not cut a hole in the intake air box like what's on the F-sport? It'll give you the increased noise you're looking for and it's free!

Check out post #10 for pics of F-sport.

The SRT intakes have been shown to decrease performance due to taking in hot air from the engine compartment.

Just buy the f-sport bottom piece from Sewell, and keep your JoeZ pipe. I got this set-up and it sounds nice.

Look into AFE. I had it on my e46 and absolutely loved the sound. I'll be copping one for my 350 real soon.

I'd have to cut a pretty big hole to get it to sound the way I want. LOL. :P I mean I've considered it but I think I'm leaning towards a full system. Yeah, I figured I'd lose a few ponies with an SRT, but with 306 ponies, it's not too big of a deal to me. I also plan on getting a GReddy SE exhausts later, so that should make up for it.

The bottom piece costs $151. I'll probably be selling my JoeZ for $85 (A little over 400 miles on it), so it would be cheaper to go with one of the full SRT intakes. :P

They costs a bit more than the K&N and InJen, but I'll do some research on them too. Thanks for the suggestion!

i went from joeZ to AEM and now to AFE. If you're in SoCal and want to hear it, we can meet up sometime. I'd go with injen just because ive heard its louder than the k&n
