Default keeping the 5 speed for my gte swap

So I want to keep my stock 5 speed when I swap in the aristo gte. I have a 99 gs300 and am wondering if I'll run into complications? I will be running the stock aristo ecu. Any help would be appriciated, thanks

Problem being the aristo ecu can't control the 5speed auto, just use the 4 speed that comes with it. There really isn't anything to gain by keeping the 5.

If your dead set on keeping it you'll need to run a standalone. You might could run the gs ecu with a piggyback if you eliminate the twin turbos and go single so that the tt vsv's aren't needed anymore.

I think he must have seen that other guy talking about using the na 5spd, do yourself a favor and keep the 4 spd, some dare to be different and the end result they just look stupid and end up paying more in the end.

Wow, some of you seem a lil bit bitter with your replies.

OP-Don't let them deter you. It may not be easy, and it may cause some grief, but anything is possible. I am planning on doing a 5spd manual swap with my GTE as well. Still trying to gather as much info as I can but just because it isn't the easiest way to do the swap doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't be done.

He is not doing a 5spd manual, he plans on using the auto 5spd crap box thats on the gs300 NA motor and we are telling him to just use the 4spd auto that comes with his swap.

And when you build the 4spd which one is better, what makes it better than the 4spd? Why didnt they use a 5spd auto on the 2jzgte vvti? LMAO

Well for one, from what I've seen it can hold more power and you have a 5th gear. Ask Toyota lol.

So a non turbo 5 spd auto tranny holds power better than a 4spd twin turbo tranny. I guess toyota had it backwards maybe you need to work for toyota in the R&D dept.
