Default Throttle Body cleaner

I was at Pep boys and I saw this stuff that says u take off the hose of ur intake, spray it into the hose, then start ur engine and keep sprayin for ten seconds every 30 seconds or so, and to do that till the whole can is empty and it'll clean ur throttle body and intake and everything else in that area, anyone know if this kind of stuff works?

I Forgot, i'll probably see if I can go some time this week and get it, I know it was at Pep boys right by the fuel injection cleaners. anyone think this stuff would work? Another thing if anyone finds it and tries it, they said to make sure not to spray the whole can at once because it can burn ur catalyc converters.

well no problem really, just preventive maintenance, I already have almost 18k miles on it so just figured it would probably be a little dirty right now

I think there were some posts about throttle body cleaning a while back. The suggestions were not to use any of the spray cleaners as they are pretty abrasive and can affect the throttle position sensor. It was recommended to use a sponge type brush and apply some cleaning solution to the brush, but not directly into the throttle body.

Oh, Oops. I had the TB out a couple of weeks ago and I just sprayed that stuff all in it and it got rid of all the carbon buildup.

I read somewhere that it's not a good idea to get that stuff into your system and better to take the TB out to clean.

Throttle body cleaning is part of the 60K mile service. Since I'm smooth as glass I skipped it. It's an $85 item at Ira Lexus.

Yes, do that. Spray as little as possible and use a rag to wipe it out. We had a guy spray to much in causing "hydrauloc" and bent some valves...so easy on the spray
