Default Performance Chips for IS250 ??? Myth or True ?

Anyone have any info on performance chips? I've seen the cheap ones on EBay, and know its got to be to good to be true( "Get what you pay for"), I also don't want to mess with the ECU w/o doing my homework in regard to performance chips........ Thanks

Sean

even if there was a performance chip, i think the gain will be minimal... i would get it too, but i would be afraid in the long run, might turn on check engine light LOL

As others said, they're all fake claims.

The ECU on our cars are encrypted and has yet to be cracked.

Even for OBD-0,OBD-1 Hondas those chips are garbage and like mentioned before they are a myth for an IS.

This dam ECU has tighter security than the Federal reserve.

theres practically no performance mods for an is250 without spending a ton of money. if you have a rwd, maybe headers, midpipe, exhaust that will get you about 15-20 hp more. Thats about it.

And I would think that would be mostly peak Hp...power "under the curve" would probably be not effected very much. Maybe 5-8 LBS/TQ.
