Default Throttle Body

The Throttle Body is very simple to remove. Take off you intake tube and it is just a matter of removing a couple bolts and hoses, The hardest part is the coolant line on the bottom of the throttle body. You can clean it alot better by removing it versus cleaning on the car. Definately get the maf cleaner spray as well and clean the maf. Another little thing you can do is make sure that there is no slack in your throttle cable. There is a little adjustment at the throttle body. Then in the search bar of the my.is forum type in THROTTLE BODY MOD. This will also help with throttle response.

sorry forgot the timing belt question. The Timing Belt is not hard to do if you are machanically inclined and you have a service manual. If you are not mechanically inclined and you dont have a serivce manual, then I would not attempt it. Really the hardest part of the timing belt change is probably the crank pully bolt. If you do a search on the forums you should either find a diy thread on it. If not I know you can find the timing belt change section of the TSRM on the forums. Just use the search bars on the forums, they all work really well.

I talked to a tech at Lexus about a similar problem, he told me that the entire intake manifold including throttle body needs to be cleaned because of carbon build up. it could be that

very little carbon builds up in our motors because we don't have an EGR system which is the biggest cause of carbon build up in the intake manifold...

when I pulled mine apart at 100k, it was still silver in color with no deposits at all...
