Hi All,
I removed the airbox to clean it and left it on the driveway. My wife ran over it and broke it. I called the dealer and they want $650 just for the airbox. That's crazy.
So, I am thinking of getting the K&N air intake for $224 shipped:

Has anyone installed this?
How does it perform?
any lost of power or gas mileage?
Update: I just saw the FSport on Sewell's website for only $308. In my case, my airbox is broken, Will the Fsport intake replace my complete stock intake?

What exactly did she run over? The entire box (meaning upper and lower), or just lower? If just lower, then yes, grab the F-Sport intake kit. If the whole box (upper and lower), then it seems you'd have to get the F-Sport kit along with part 17705 from this diagram: http://is.sewellparts.com/oem-catalo...S350-2006.html.

Yeah, If the top piece of your box is messed up, you may need to either buy the top piece on EBAY or find someone selling the stock entire box for cheap and go that route. Def go with the F-Sport if you decide to do an intake tho (Only Intake that won't suck in hot air from your engine bay).

The airbox is comprised of two parts: upper and lower. This F-Sport intake kit from Sewell comes with the lower part only: http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...2006/1793.html.

She ran over the lower portion of it. So, I am guess I'll get the F-Sport intake kit :-)
Thanks Kevin and all

I have the K&N Intake! It can get pretty loud after 5k - like the "uh oh, head turner loud". There's also a small whistling sound from 1.5-2k when you're light on the gas. Sounds like a mini turbo ;]
I actually love it. :P It's more on the throaty side though - a little raspy.
If you're concerned about smog issues, it isn't carb legal, and idk if it'll pass smog. I'm actually still looking for that answer now.
Good luck with your decision!

your intake doesnt cause any type of smog.......its the efficiency/effectiveness of the engine and emissions systems that cause it to pass/fail a smog test.
You could hook up a giant McDonalds straw as your intake with a coffee filter rubber-banded on and the readings on the emissions test would be the same as a carb certified f-sport (everything else being equal).
lexus just paid big bucks for the "certification". California is a strange place.
