Question PPE Headers

I realize this is a bit of a longshot - I've been seriously eyeballing a set of PPE headers for my '08 IS250 but I just can't bring myself to spend almost $1,000 (plus install, now we're at ~$1500) on headers.

Are there any options out there to get this price down? Vender(s), etc? or is that pretty much a set price?

I've trolled the Marketplace on CL but haven't seen anything worthwhile.

AFAIK they're sold directly by PPE, so you're pretty much stuck with the price unless you find a used set. You might get a smallish discount if you got a group buy going (contact PPE to ask) but I wouldn't expect half off or anything crazy.

Good headers cost money. If you want cheap there's always megan. (though I'm of the opinion if you're gonna spend several grand adding power to a 250 you ought to have bought a 350 instead)

I would pay this price for high quality headers.

I really was more curious about whether there was any options to bring that cost down (even marginally) so that I don't feel like I should "just upgrade to an IS350" like so many on here like to point out.

There's a member selling a set of PPE headers on the classifieds. Megan and Mazzuri headers might be cheaper options for you op

Mazzuri only made a handfull of sets, then went out of business... so good luck there... (doubly so if you run into any CEL issues).

Megans are cheap... but in every sense of the word.

I installed em myself.....I'm pretty skilled and it took me 5 hours + a lift, every long socket, short socket, ratchet wrench, long wrench, short wrench, 8 mm inverse star bit, and extensions. You should have an idea of how electricity works, as you'll also potentially need a multimeter to trouble shoot any o2 sim problems. THe 02 sim is spliced inline right next to your ecu, which is in the engine bay.

It's doable, but prolly a 6 on a scale of 1-10 (1 easy) as far as installation goes.

I asked some reps from Momentum Performance at the last dyno day I was at to see if they'd thought about expanding into the Lexus header market. They sad though they'd thought about it, and have a 350 in town to use as a guinea pig, they won't be doing anything soon. I hope they change their minds cause I've seen their work...it's NOICE!

I just recently saw a post on here for some PPE's. Price was about half of retail. Check out some of the other PPE threads.

DIY ftw....
