Joe, what about the blue color? How close is it to USB? Is it the same color code?

Well it's anodied blue with no specific color name or color codes..

The Blue Anodize I use, is a formula provided by my anodizer based on what shades I requested..
Dark, Medium, Light.. etc etc...

Also, it is not pearl and has no mica... Just Glossy Blue as shown below.

Here are some samples of the same Blue on the IS-F.

Hmmmmm...I might have to jump one one of these blue intakes to have the best of both worlds. Just not sure it's worth the hassle of trading/selling my F-Sport just to get a blue one

Are you using the Joe Z with the F Sport bottom box and filter?

Sorry for my ignorance but what make the joez different from fsport. From what I see, it looks like the same metal tube with different name branded on it.

The Joe Z came out first (by a couple years)... and a forum member makes/sells em.

The F-sport is pretty much a copy of the tube, with the addition of a new lower airbox that includes an extra hole just for noise, and they include a reusable filter... for those additions and the branding on it you pay about 3x as much as the Joe Z.

Oh, the F-sport also comes with a CARB sticker, which is worth a lot if you're in California but not anywhere else.

So what does the Joe Z intake give you? Compared to the OEM tube, it looks like the Joe Z looses the ridges, the Joe Z is not plastic, and it looses the "silencer chamber" or whatever you want to call it.

Does it improve throttle response? If so is it the loss of the ridges, the material or the chamber?

I've heard it does not give much more sound if any?

HP gain's?

I still think I am going to go with the Joe Z Black Intake along with the F Sport lower box and filter. In the end, it costs about the same as just buying the full F Sport kit.

Not wanting to drill a hole in the side and shave the slits on the OEM box.

The JoeZ will allow for more laminar flow to the intake, without the intake pulse damper (resonation chamber). Laminar flow should increase throttle response, but the throttle is controlled by the ECU anyway. It is dyno proven to give 5-6hp at the wheels.

Save your money if you don't want the "sound" of the f-sport lower box, that is all it gives you. There is no performance gain from it.

The only thing I am really looking for in an intake for my 250 is a classy look, nice sound and improved throttle response. Any added power would be great, but my 250 is slow! Mainly looking for a nice sound to compliment the exhaust!

Well, the fsport is polished aluminum if all you're after is looks.

Maybe you can take a blue sharpie to it to make it the same color as your car..
