Default Gotta love free mods!

Well free in the sense that you have a dremel

It definitely added a bit of snarl to the free idle revs.

Now I just need to get my intake pipe, and a K&N.

I did the same thing yesterday except I cut 1 big square hole. I really like it. Under normal circumstances you don't notice any difference, but full throttle above 3,000 rpm it comes to life. Nice deep growl. Kind of sounds like an old 4 barrel carb opening up. Not ricey at all.

Joe Z pipe and a drop in filter will be my next mods.

What about the slits? The F sport bottom does have a hole there, but they also got rid of the slits on the bottom.

I assume you are talking about the fins inside the box? There has been a lot of discussion on their function, but most think they help straighten the air out as it enters the box. I left mine alone. Some people have gone to the trouble of grinding them down smooth so the inside of the box looks like the inside of the F-Sport intake.

Yes, they should assist in laminarizing the airflow going up into the air filter (and spread the pressure differential more evenly across the filter surface). However, the cross ribs would inhibit that to some degree.

I too cut a hole and then uninstalled the plastic that led to the center of the engine near radiator... So now I have 2 holes in my box.
Fawk the F-sport box. Way overpriced.

wont this cause heat soak problems? It seems the intake would get less fresh air with it removed?

I feel kinda dumb now buying the whole f sport intake system once i found out it was just a hole in the box. Oh well, like Kumar said when he forgot his phone on White Castle, "I've gone too far". LOL!

Also interested in before & after sound clips. My invidia MP & Fsport exhaust is loud enough for my liking but hey if a free mod will free up a few horses, why not?

It won't.

This is purely a mod for sound.
