it may be on the smaller side, but lets be serious, do I really need a larger one? I'll be lucky to get 75whp out of any turbo I put on there so I might as well have one that spools up the quickest right?

Well, it really depends on where you want you powerband. With a small hotside you'll spool up quickly...but fall flat up top. With a larger .80/.90 hotside you'll get midrange and top end...where just so happens where your chances for traction will increase.

Just depends on what you're looking to do. But I'm all for it either way!

When you're serious about buying the turbo send me a PM...I'll put you in touch with a friend of mine who custom-designs turbos for other Lexus/Toyota cars... he can probably give you a lot better result than any off the shelf speced unit.

Just a thought...perhaps STS would be interested in a IS350 guinea pig :

Looks like they also have three dealers in the LA area.

Perhaps a universal twin turbo setup of theirs is a good start.

yeah, I contacted them and they want me to give them a call rather than email. In my message to them, I went over all the details about how boost was offered previously for the ISx50 but it was 6k for 55whp. I suggested that a bare-bones kit for 3k would sell like hotcakes.

Anyway, they seem interested, so I'll let you know the conversation when I call them later today.

I don't think I'd hold your breath for that price.

Most of the STS kits I've seen ranged from 4k-

Up to 8k-

Thanks for the offer!

I just got off the phone with the regional sales manager. He is hooking me up with a guy one city over from me that is one of their dealers. Based on our conversation, he thinks a single turbo setup would be the way to go and that I should start with their universal kit which is only 1999. The perfect installation point is that single large canister area before it y's back out to dual exhaust. The turbo would replace that canister.

It will cost more than that obviously to get the piping correct but we might end up in the 3k area once we're done. If all goes well after my install, they'll consider having a template made up for a kit.

YOU folks just have to convince STS it's worth it. Send emails or call. If they get enough interest, it'll be a sure thing. If not, I'll still share my install so someone can replicate it.
