Why would you swap in a 2JZ-GE stock cylinder head?
What is the Electromotive Tec3?

is the Electromotive Tec3 a stand alone? what are some different stand alones that are good both in the products abilitys and price ranges? does everyone just get the AEM?

Because AEM is the best of the best. The Tec3 looks to be a standalone. Other ones are Proefi which is also good, Greddy E-manage and HKS Fcon. Im pretty sure theres more.

OMG!!! why screw around with all that crap of swapping heads, then piggy-backing or stand alone?
look, you want a turbo.... pay the same amount that you will for a head and turbo and just buy an entire GTE motor with ecu and harness. suprastore.com has them for 2750.
run the Aristo ecu, do the wiring to keep your IS tranny and enjoy a GTE IS
otherwise build the freaking thing right, honestly, if you're a noob, the last thing you need to worry about is a swap, just do some reliable mechanical tuning and learn more, then look at doing a swap.

Lucci, be real with yourself first. think about what you can mechanically and financially handle. if you're not very mechanically inclined,,,,, this is going to be extremely expensive because you will need to have a shop do it.
my best advice, start out slow, get an intake,,,,, those big pipe k&n styles are not the best all the time,,, I rock a Blitz drop in and it flows just as much.
get an exhaust
get a cam gear and have it tuned,,, you will be surprised what cam tuning will do.
if you want more after that, get a S-AFC and have that tuned with the cam

whats a S-AFC? & i know exactly which you mean im pretty sure i could handle a swap w/o a shop....probably wouldnt be over night but im pretty sure i can get it done right. i figure i need a second job anyway so by June hopefully i should be able to get the new engine...i dont want the car to be necessarily loud i want it to sound deep and ballsy. i like the way the Greddy Evo2 exhaust sounds...
