Joe Z exhaust Review - New Member
Hi Everyone,
New member to the forum, thought I start off writing a review of my new exhaust for an 06 IS350. I was the winner of the Joe Z raffle at Pursuit 3 (awesome event). I decided on the Joe Z Street Performance System by PTS because it was the only option that came with cats. It has been about 200 mis / 3 wks since I had the exhaust and my only other bolt-on mod is JoeZ intake. Im not an avid reviewer so bare with me.
I took my car to Tommy @ MusicBOX where I had Joe Z hand delivery my exhaust Joe was awesome. I could tell he knew a lot about our cars because he was able to point out my oem wheels were on reverse 15 seconds after first seeing the car. He also stayed to help Tommy with the installation, one of the many reason why I continue to support his products. The two of them did the installation in about 40 mins, looked rather easy but I dont have a clue what they were doing.
Sound
The car sounds amazing! My bf, who is also on the forums, had Joe Z exhaust on his ISF and the car sounded really exotic. I was surprised how similar they sound inside/outside even though the engines are completely different. After pressing the start button is where I like the difference the most. Ever since I got the car I always found the ticking noises you hear at idle very annoying and now the idle noise is droned out by the rumbling of the exhaust. Cold starts are very loud, very similar to my neighbor's GS350 with invidia midpipe + tanabe exhaust but the noise is a little bit deeper pitch, not quite ISF loud. we wake each other up everyday with our cars.
While driving, the drone is only heard when you step on the gas. Its deep and sounds better as you climb the RPM but very timid when light on the gas. While my bf loves the sound, i find it a little too much at times. I am getting alot more attention when cruising below 40, and the cabin noise is noticeable at cruising speeds. Drone is barely noticeable at fwy speeds.
When you gun it, not to bash on any other set up, but joe z really separates itself from anything else on the market i witnessed. it sounds more synchronized and unique. No rasp and the noise is at the command of my feet.
Performance
I dont plan to get it on paper but I would say noticeable change. The gears flow better, I would like to say most notable in the mid range RPM in most of the gears. the pick up is better and I feel faster
Looks
shiny, and thick tips +1
Here's a picture and a quick clip.
(dont mind the spacing of the tips, havent had time to adjust them yet)
Thanks Joe Z and Tommy @ MusicBOX
