Not sure what you mean by that, as there was only one 2JZ-GE w/ VVTi that came stock in the IS300's. The AEM is a v1 1050 box with custom harness.

Default Trans tires n more

Just wanted to say I'm still around and the car is still driving, quite nicely too...

Been busy with other stuff, but I've made some video which I'll share soon... in the meantime I just picked up this:

W58 5spd from 95 NA MKIV Supra with 94,xxx KM on it. I got to drive the car prior to the tranny being pulled, so I know its in good shape.




I also got a brand new ACT clutch and the stock NA flywheel with the sale... more to come on that soon when I get a chance to unpack it.


Also.... I needed tires for summer so I got these for a nice deal:

Enkei RPF1 17"x7" front and 17"x8" rear. 215 Dunlop Direzza Z1 Starspecs in the front, 245 Khumo V700 rear.

This was also included with the transmission sale, along with a stock NA supra flywheel.

Awesome project sir. Are you running the stock ecu in parallel to the AEM? If not, did you lose any functions such as cruise, climate control etc?

Thank you.

The AEM is running in parallel controlling all fuel and timing 100%, while the stock ECU is still controlling everything else (the drive by wire throttle, VVT-i, climate controls, dash/cluster, etc). All stock functions work including traction control and cruise control

After reviewing datalogs recorded during hard driving, air temps were creeping higher than what I'd like to be seeing... so in the name of making reliable clean jam, something had to be done!!

Authentic Garrett core 24" x 10.5" x 3.5" cooler upgrade (good for 600+whp):



^ also gives it a more aggressive look haha

That is surprising that the precision core was not keeping up at such relatively low boost. I heard precision cores were pretty efficient. What was the HP rating on the old core?

Oh, nevermind. I see it was the small core. It probably wasn't rated for much to begin with huh?

Yup you got it.... The old one was a precision core, but it was relatively small. I only used it because I already had it from my other car. It was rated about 350whp.... so the fact that I'm pushing 400whp caused it to heat up pretty quickly. Its not like it would instantly be hot, just after a couple consecutive hard pulls IATs would be sky high and I could feel a loss in power. Why would I put on an undersized intercooler in the first place you might ask? Well the original power goal was 350whp lol

The bigger core will help but also you have a ton of piping. Run a side by side intercooler where the inlet and outlet are on the same side or go ffim

A ton of piping? Not really any more than the average front mount turbo car.... and the extra piping had nothing to do with IATs under full throttle. It may be a little more laggy, but I really dont notice it at all. I don't like coolers with same side inlet/outlets, they look awkward and you end up sacrificing some actual core space for the extra pipe. FFIM may come as a future upgrade

Upon further testing and logging under the same conditions there is quite a difference in IATs now. I'm seeing a 35 deg C + drop in IATs under the same conditions where the old cooler was not keeping up (ex. 3rd and 4th gear pulls). So far I'm happy with the results.
