After driving with the T04B for several months now, its starting to become apparent that it is a bit undersized for the motor. Don't get me wrong, it provides great drive-ability, quick spool, and good low to mid range torque. It almost feels like a factory turbo car lol. So I've been keeping an eye out for something a little larger with more power potential as well.
A good deal came along so I jumped on it again and am now the owner of a..
GT4088R 0.85 A/R imp:
Here is it compared beside my T04B:
Test fitting in the car (almost bolt on in place of the T04B):
^ now that looks like a real turbo!
New engine bay shots with everything buttoned up:
Low boost street re-tune for now so no numbers, however the 40R feels like a night and day improvement! More responsive throttle and closer to that NA-like feeling off boost. When boost does hit (about 800-1000rpm later) it comes with more punch and urgency which makes the whole thing more fun to drive. I was worried I might not like it if its too laggy, but the dual BB really makes up for that and the extra lag isn't even all that apparent. All in all a great turbo for this size of motor

Thanks for the replies. The 40R is great, never looking back lol.
I've been pretty busy with work lately, but I did manage to snag another couple deals to really take advantage of what it can offer
Used GTE rods/pistons and new Crower valvesprings/Ti retainers
I may have to change the title of this thread soon :/

Had an opportunity to join in on a bike cruise this weekend with some buddies. There are some really nice twisty forest roads about an hour from where I live that run through an escarpment, so lots of elevation changes too.. think hairpin uphill corners + turbo RWD That little white car in the picture is my buddies custom turbo charged Suzuki Swift GTi.
Heres a few pics:

As I'm collecting my parts, I'm looking into cams now.... It doesn't seem like our VVTI GE's have too much selection to choose from. Pretty much Brian Crower or Titan...
Right now I'm thinking to go with the BC 264's.
Anyone want to share their experience (good or bad) with any VVTI cams on boost? Also any other options that I've missed?

I know there hasn't been much action in this thread lately, I've been busy collecting parts in the background
I should be starting the build next week so stay tuned..
I now have everything I need, here's a glimpse of some more stuff:
Wiseco Forged pistons - custom dish for ~9.5 CR with TT headgasket (yes I could have used the stock TT pistons, but I didn't want low compression):
BC 264 stg2 cams
Titan Billet Timing Belt Tensioner
ARP Head Studs
ARP Rod Bolts
