By moderate amount of power do you mean 1,000 rwhp? Thats what GTE stock can hold. Im GTE short block five years strong at 700 rwhp. Stuff is strong!

Yep I'm well aware it can hold over 1000whp .... I have a good friend who ran his Supra with over 1000whp for a while, however that was his "high boost" mode, the rest of the time it was driving around with more like 800whp. So 1000whp+ on stock GTE I would not call reliable to beat on daily (at least I wouldn't feel comfortable with that). By moderate I mean in the 700whp range.... which is a moderate amount of power compared to what fully built 2JZ's can do

No matter what, the EMU would not control ignition timing... I bought it used, only hooked up the fuel portion at first, when I decided I needed to do timing as well, I wired that in, and no matter how it was wired, jumpered, setup in the configuration, it would not control timing. Seems like it has happened to a few others...

Now, the AEM is up and running and no more worries!

Sometimes you just have to hate to love cars, or is that love to hate cars... either way...

pulled her apart to do a transmission, going to do r154 or 350z trans most likely, and bigger turbo, either 6266 or 6766 / similar... in the mean time, shes going to get aftermarket forged pistons and rods, as well as an intake manifold that points the right direction...

Sounds good... Did the stock tranny give out?

I've been following that 350z tranny swap thread too... sucks that it won't be fitting in there easily at all.

Status update: had some issues just before winter and parked it over the winter... started really tearing in to it two weeks ago, found I had a serious issue I never knew I had...

I was running much much more boost than originally intended and knew about... turns out had a vacuum hose tee with a hairline crack in it... because of this, I only saw 8 psi on the gauge and the AEM, whereas it was probably closer to 20ish psi... So, thrown rod at low boost that I thought - now I understand fully what happened... sucks didn't find that crack earlier...
