these are the ones i got from Paul @ PPE, i may have them make a flange on one side so they bolt onto the headers

and this is what im installing next weekend (knock on wood)headers, gaskets, motor mounts...already did tranny mount, all 4 new O2 sensors, PPE drivers side O2 extension wiring... also got one for the passenger side if i need it. i still need to pick up a few gaskets and then car will be going to a exhaust shop the day after install to install the flex joints if i dont weld my own flanges onto them...i plan on snapping some pics and maybe making a more thorough DIY. their are pics in the PPE install guide but i think i can get away without some of those steps.

Good to see that someone's taking my advice and buying new motor mounts lol. Should help reduce the cracking chances

yeah i bought most of this stuff at the end of 2010 when he did his group buy

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...-gs-ls-sc.html

and i been acquiring everything else i needed over time and just now making time to get to them. Paul from PPE talked about the stress on the headers if you had busted motor mounts so i bought some them...and i got the flexible piece to also add a little protection to the mounts/headers.i still wonder if this was one of the main reasons the S & S headers cracked (atleast the second batch), that when people installed the headers their cars already had about 50k on them and the mounts were probably done with about then

Sakataj, seems your flex ections do not have a smooth inner liner (interlocked type).

My experience with such flex sections is that they start whistling under high load, as the ribs create turbulence in the exhaust gasses.

I replaced it with an interlocked flex section and the problem is solved. I did have to pay for labor twice.

Anyway, just wanted to give you a heads up before you go installing these.

Sakataj, I was on my phone, but on my laptop, it looks like they're interlocked after all.

Just for your reference:

my single-walled flex section:

Can't find a pic of my interlocked one, but found this pic on the web:

If your flex section looks like the second one, than you're good.

Sorry for the thread-jack, OP.

Multiple cracks on BOTH headers! The tech said one was barely hanging on! Oh, and one engine mount is completely cracked and the other is starting to crack. Wtf I replaced this things less than 4 years ago. Bringing the car back next weekend to replace those aswell.

good, mines stuck on a rack at a buddies shop waiting on a 3rd replacement for the 2nd replacement drivers side header which is hitting the steering shaft (my first one was sent back months ago to be reworked and the second one still doesnt fit) so Paul @ PPE is supposed to be getting me out a header this week but im 99% sure it wont get here till next week. passenger header was easy and painless and but yeah my motor mounts were shot also
