Default Opinions on Megan Drift Spec Exhaust

CL,

I did a search and did not find much---I have a 250 AWD and I am thinking of a megan exhaust--it sounds just like an M2 on the you tube clips--am I wrong? Is it louder? Don't want something very loud.

Since the M2 is approaching $300 and the Megan is as cheap as $380 shipped I am wondering if it is better quality in the long run?

any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure it's louder than the m2. If it were me, I'd get the Megan since I like the look of larger mufflers and a deep exhaust note

Is it very loud compared to Tanabe? Cabin drone is a good question....also is it big?

unlike the last poster--I do not like very loud or very big. I wanted some growl but not annoyingly so...

I think I am leaning toward the Megan Racing OE-RS series cat backs are based on factory style.

Overall--what is better quality/fit finish, the M2 or the Megan racing?

Default M2 vs. Megan D-Spec

I wish there was more to this subject. I have not heard either exhaust before. Ive heard the Tanabe MT in cabin and drive by. The Tanabe MT has a nice tone andthere's definately a growl to it. Cabin drone can be tolerated.

Well the M2 is a rep of the Tanabe so it will sound very similar on terms of loudness. They both have the subtle look if thats what you are going for. Compared to Megan's Drift spec, most people don't have it probably because of the angled look of the canisters. The canisters are big, but not as big as the HKS Hipower. However, I'm positive it will be louder than the M2. As far as drone, I think its personal preference.

I have driven with both exhausts. Like the guy above me said, in terms of loudness M2 and Tanabe are almost the same except for the cabin drone, the tanabe has a more refined cabin drone while the M2 seems louder. The megan drift spec exhaust sound has a decent growl and the cabin drone is louder than the M2 WITHOUT its silencers. With silencers it sounds almost OEM. With these exhausts you get what you pay for. The M2 exhaust good/bad fitment is a hit or miss. My M2 fitment was off, the driver side exhaust tip hangs about an inch lower than the front passenger side. Ive seen others with bad fitment and Ive seen some others that have perfect fitment. IMO going from M2 exhaust to Megan Drift Spec exhaust was an upgrade and is better in the long run.

I hope this helps

HKS Hi Power had an amazing exhaust note but the highway drone made me sell it, very deep and not too loud but the big canisters killed it for me, I drive a Lexus and it got attention by the wrong crowd also *cops* lol
