Default Power mode?

If I keep my car in power mode all of the time would that cause any problems to my car?

Im under the impression that all power really does is raise the shift points a few hundred rpms. It should not hurt your car, only gas mileage. In theory, over time running at slightly higher rpms might cause more engine problems but i do not think it would be signifigant at all.

Talking

Upshifts later and downshifts sooner, for a given throttle position. Speed of shifts is same, either way.

No harm...........except that, in theory, the motor wears out a little sooner (rings at 295k miles instead of 300k......boohoo).

Mine stays in power mode, but I gateshift most of the time and usually run even higher revs than the ECTi would shift me at.......

hey - about the gate shifting, i was wondering, how much is too much, how much are we allowed to play around with it?

ok, ok, i know driving it around all the time at redline is not a good thing. but that gated shifter gives us access to all 5 gears, that seems like an invitation to play!

so how often do u guys hold the gears down low to let it revv up?

I don't gate-shift but I leave my car in Power mode all the time and my car doesn't move forward without me using the E-Shift. And I'm ALWAYS at high RPM's always......
