there is no joez air box, you are cutting the stock air box and using it with a joe z intake.

How high are you revving? I only hear my intake at 3500RPM+

Or seeing you already have the pipe...

why not just do this:

BPI 3" Flow Stack Kit & Compact Filter:

http://www.bpi-us.com/filterkits.php#asm30602

Open filter but with all the OEM plastic under the hood, should act like a heat shield anyway....

this should make things a lot more louder then just the intake box and holes,

Isn't there a risk in allowing unclean air into the box/motor?

Would this also place warm air into the box, thus lowering the hp?

I bought the FSport Intake and it is great. Don't short cut an upgrade the intake pipe does make a difference. The sound is to kill for. My car is a 2011 IS 350 F Sport, not sure what your's is.

But would cutting/drilling more holes make it sound louder? I havent really looked at the fsport intake box so Im assumig you are able to drill more holes.

With the intake ,your really not going to hear a growl by just revving the motor. When you get up to 3,000 rpm then it starts to growl. I have the f-sport and unlike my old short ram intake you could get a growl when you rev it up.
