I've always wanted to do this to my GS400. I'd do twin remote mount turbos near the rear bumper. Saves the hassles of manifolds and gives me a chance of passing biannual California smog tests if I remove the turbos.

I'm a big "less is more" guy. I want it clean, quick, and reliable. I figure I could gain 100 rwhp pretty easily with proper tuning at boost levels that are not silly. Also, I'm not really interested in spending big $$ on an upgraded transmission. This car is pretty old now...

Well as far as i know the uzfe family is a descendant of Toyotas LeMans v8s wich where very capabel of high power back in the days. So no point in going the GM way
Plus GM Engines are pretty expensive in Germany if you add up taxes, shipping and so on. You could almost double your price in the USA.

My knowledge is that the 3uzfe is strong enough for 500crank HP without adding improved Rods and Pistons. Can someone verrify that?

I think you passed inspections with your RMM SC as well. Is this correct?

yea i pass inspection in terms of sniffer test but not visual (obviously lol). Just know a guy that would just blind eye the engine bay and youre set. No CEL here as well.

3UZ rods are thinnner/weaker then older 1UZ rods. As far as power levels, I haven't a clue...

That link has a good comparison of UZ rod thicknesses

The original 1990 Lexus/Toyota 1uzfe utilized rods and pistons that can withstand 600+hp with PROPER tuning and PROPER charge cooling/water/alcohol injection. Starting in 1995 Lexus began using much thinner and weaker piston rods, lighter pistons and higher compression. While 500hp can be made it is not going to be a reliable engine under such output.

PROPERLY engineered boost designed pistons along with quality forged piston rods should be enough for the engine in terms of strength needed. The transmission is another issue. JeffTsai has built the strongest A650E transmission I am aware of but unfortunately does not seem to be able or willing to offer duplicates or parts. You WILL need a stronger than stock transmission to reliably handle 500hp.

Earlier I mentioned the current Eaton 4 lobe TVS series PD superchargers but the centrifugal units can meet your goals as well. Remote mounted turbos, possibly using the oilless design from Comp Turbo may be the best option off all.

Buy a Corvette and put your LEXUS emblems on it. Those not as smart as us won't know the difference.
