i bought a package that had both front and rear subframes with all axles and breaks, engine/trans, ecu, wiring, driveshaft, i/c, airbox, trac ecu etc. obviously i didnt use the subframes but i used most of the stuff that came on them since my car had over 200k on it, figured id swap a bunch of crap out. got my setup from japan direct in canada, i negotiated the price to where i wanted it, they wanted 3800+ 350 shipping. i paid less then they wanted before shipping, with shipping included
i will probably go single in the future, but i wanted to start with everything stock, makes diagnosis of problems easier when theres no aftermarket stuff involved.... car is running in TTC mode instead of sequential and its alot of fun to drive. next project will be getting the E shift to work since the computer can control it. i havent seen any guides on how to do it on a non e shift gs3, so once i get it working ill post a how to guide

You need a new front section, this is the section that weighs 9 lbs with no carrier bearing, no u joint, no spline. The front section is just a donut / shaft / and female spline. The rear part weighs 15 lbs and has the carrier bearing, u joint , shaft and donut. I'm shipping my shaft out now.

So you were able to help Patrick out with that?? Glad to see if so, I believe his build is done and ready to run otherwise.

Maybe you guys are not understanding me let me try again
On the back of the trans you have a flange that the driveshaft bolts up to and a donut bushing goes between that flange and the front half shaft. SC400 uses the same type driveshaft, and trans .
The carrier bearing is on the rear half.
So the half half on both aristo and GS300 are the same length. Why can't you remove the flange on the back of the aristo 4 speed trans and install the GS300 flange on the back of the tranny and just use the GS300 front half?
We do this on the sc when you do and aristo swap with auto, and you use an SC400 complete driveshaft and swap that flange out from the aristo to the SC400 one.
Same scenario when i have a GS400 diff on my car with TRD LSD and then i decide i want use the Supra tt 6speed diff because of the gearing , so since my driveshaft was made for the GS400 diff it will not bolt up to the tt 6speed diff , so all i have to do is grab and impact gun with 33mm or 35mm deep socket to remove that flange from the diff and the GS400 one over to the TT 6speed diff.
Op sorry again, I did not mean to Hjack your thread !

Removing the flange on the diff is just a nut. Removing it from the trans involves disassembling the trans and pressing it off. If you get your trans rebuilt they can do it easily. Otherwise it's defiantly not a DIY type of job.

It's not like the Big Flange/Small Flange diff swaps where any 200mm supra/aristo/SC/GS flange will fit right on any combination of other 200mm supra/aristo/SC/GS pumpkins.
It's a non-issue on SC swaps and First Gen GS swaps, this is an issue with the second gen GS only.
