yeah i was on a mission lol. i had planned to take 2 days off from customer cars (i run a shop from my home garage) and bang it out. by the time 5pm rolled around i was like, **** i can def finish this tonight!!! two most time consuming things were adding a return to the stock fuel pump holder with no JPK and building a downpipe and hooking it into the Y pipe before the resonators.

No misunderstanding, the tailshafts are not interchangeable on the two trans. They are easy enough to remove from the trans but again unfortunately do not fit each other. The output shaft inside the 5spd GS trans is not the same as the 4spd aristo shaft and so the shaft yoke/tailshaft piece doesn't fit.
It's not like the Big Flange/Small Flange diff swaps where any 200mm supra/aristo/SC/GS flange will fit right on any combination of other 200mm supra/aristo/SC/GS pumpkins.
It's a non-issue on SC swaps and First Gen GS swaps, this is an issue with the second gen GS only.

What about using the stock GE trans, especially if you aren't planning on putting much more than stock power through it? I've read JeffTsai's threads about adding a good Trans Cooler to the car which can help extend the life of the stock trans.
This goes back to my question of being able to run a GTE motor w/ GE 5 spd trans off of the GE ECU w/ a GOOD piggy back like eManage or MAP ECU 3. - All due to the fact of living in Commiefornia.

i bought a package that had both front and rear subframes with all axles and breaks, engine/trans, ecu, wiring, driveshaft, i/c, airbox, trac ecu etc. obviously i didnt use the subframes but i used most of the stuff that came on them since my car had over 200k on it, figured id swap a bunch of crap out. got my setup from japan direct in canada, i negotiated the price to where i wanted it, they wanted 3800+ 350 shipping. i paid less then they wanted before shipping, with shipping included i will probably go single in the future, but i wanted to start with everything stock, makes diagnosis of problems easier when theres no aftermarket stuff involved.... car is running in TTC mode instead of sequential and its alot of fun to drive. next project will be getting the E shift to work since the computer can control it. i havent seen any guides on how to do it on a non e shift gs3, so once i get it working ill post a how to guide
