Default Ram Air Hood

So my buddy has a Dodge Charger with a carbon fiber hood with a air scoop. The air scoop actual brings in air directly into the air intake.

So has anyone see anything like this for our cars? I know there is the inlet in front but I really just don't know how much air that brings into the intake box.

The stock intake flows more air than the engine is capable of using.

A) I think this would not look good on our car, but that's just an opinion.

B) My GTO had a ram air hood and it did little to nothing as far as adding airflow. It was actually was more helpful by allowing hot air to escape the engine compartment at a stoplight than it was by bringing air in while driving. Fact.

I personally wouldn't do it. It will give your Lexus a Civic "ricer" look.

But if you're going to do it, take a look at the Subaru WRX hood scoop setup. They just redirect that air, like the Charger, to go right into the intake. The IS may be a little tricky since the throttle body faces to the left and a 90 degree bend would be needed to get the air from the hood to the throttle body.

I am still up in the air on what route to take. I want to give it a more aggressive look, but functional too.

I found a couple carbon fiber hoods but nothing that really stuck out. I even thought about ISF hood but I don't know if they will fit, I know they just raised it up some for the V8.

Vintage GTO ?
The old GS hoods performed about the same. Little/no measured increase in airflow.
Worst of it were the pick-ups under the hood, leading to the breather. Water would enter thru the hood scoops, lay in the pick-ups & then exit via the factory drain holes. Factory decided to put one of the drains directly over the distributor.
