Default Videos of Multiple Exhaust and Intake Setups (HKS, Fsport, Invidia, Takeda)

Ive had a few different exhaust, intake, midpipe setups and I remember promising a few people videos and I finally got around to it.

Please keep in mind that these videos were recorded on a iPhone 4S (so the sound quality isnt that great, Ill provide more details before each video) and have been sitting on my computer for a while.

1) F-Sport exhaust + F-Sport intake + resonator delete

- I had this setup for about 7 months and I am happy that its gone. I originally only have the exhaust and then added the intake. It was not loud enough for me so I cheaped out and got a resonator delete instead of a midpipe. Big mistake. I can describe the setup in one word: RASP

It was def louder than the exhaust + intake alone, but it would be really raspy in the middle to upper RPM range, to the point of almost sounding like a Honda fart cannon

2) F-Sport exhaust + F-Sport intake + Invidia midpipe.

-This setup was a little bit louder than #1 but not by much. The one difference though was the amount of rasp. It sounded deeper than setup #1 but there would still be rasp during the higher RPM range.

3) F-Sport exhaust + Takeda intake + Invidia midpipe

-The Takeda intake is def much louder than the F-Sport since its a short ram. Its just difficult to hear over the exhaust + midpipe combo.

Heres a better video of the Takeda

4) HKS Hi-Power exhaust + Takeda intake + Invidia midpipe

-This setup has to be the BEST OUT OF THE BOX SETUP IMO. The HKS Hi-Power is much louder than the F-Sport, and when you pair it with the Invidia midpipe, it sounds incredible. It is MUCH deeper than setup #3 and there is absolutely ZERO rasp across the entire RPM range. There is only a loud, deep, and roaring sound that is the loudest non custom setup (out of the box) for the 2IS.

Note: This was before the new Greddy Evo3 exhaust was released, but I doubt its louder than the Fsport. Ive heard a few videos of it, but its still on the quieter side when compared to HKS.

If you guys have any more questions, feel free to ask

Nice, thanks for posting these up bob! It should help a lot of people out there (including me) when it comes time to decide between intakes, exhausts, and midpipes.

Is there any exhaust out there that sounds like the HKS Hi-Power but has a more OE look to it, like the Tanabe/M2/Invidia/F-Sport?

The Greddy Evo3 has tips that look more OEM. I personally love the fat tips of the HKS.

Heres a picture comparing the HKS and F-Sport to give others a good idea

Greddy EVO3 I think is the closest sound to HKS I think..similar tips but smaller so less aggressive

I never would have thought that the F-Sport setup would have so much rasp to it.

I think the resonator delete played a big part in the rasp for that setup. I wish I didnt cheap out and do that. My stock midpipes with the straight pipe is still hanging up in my garage

~5-7hp which is the same as almost ever other axle back. The only difference is sound and price. I would go for the HKS because its louder and cheaper than the fsport. I've never had the HKS without a mid pipe but I have tons of drone and I love it.

Thanks this helped me. I have the F-sport intake and F-sport exhaust combo, and planned on getting the invidia midpipe. Now i'm having second thoughts.

Might be. I'm satisfied with the exhaust and intake alone

Good info in this thread, I bounced around 4 exhaust setups & ended up with a Greddy SP Elite+Invidia combo, perfect exhaust tone but a little too quiet. So you say that the HKS+Invidia is louder than the F-Sport+Invidia combo? I'm deciding between these 2 exhausts atm.

Also is this how you would say your car sounds like WOT? I know this guy has a HKS exhaust, I'm guessing a midpipe as well but not 100% sure

HKS + Invdia is louder and deeper than Fsport + Invidia.

Its hard to tell from the video but I rear some rasp. My setup has zero rasp
