Yes it will but not as loud as other short ram intakes such as K&N, Takeda, etc

i received the pipe, the air box and the filter. but i didnt receive a CARB sticker, they said it was not necessary since it is a Lexus certified part....hmmmm.

also there are no brackets or any misc parts, is anything missing in this kit that should be included?
If you need/want the sticker it will cost you $5 at the dealership.

I run Joe-Z Intake pipe and cut the hole in the air box to get the extra noise (sounds good at 3k RPMs). Outside of the look, I am unsure why anyone would pay so much for the same air box with a hole in it.

I got my F-sport intake from the dealer and they were cool enough to install it for free.

So i installed my intake yesterday in under an hour and i love it! im glad i installed it myself, even though the dealership offered to do it for free, what better way to love your car then by modding her yourself. I only had 1 question about the stock intake, it has extra parts on it that the f sport intake doesnt have. what is the extra part attached to the stock intake?

Just some more photos. i love the sound, love how it feels as if i accelerate faster. i didnt notice a few times that i was nearly going 100mph in areas i dont usually go that fast. and i love knowing that i did the installation myself, what better way to gain some experience.

Anyone know what that extra part on the stock intake is and why we no longer need it after the f sport intake is installed?

I recall it being a port that deadens the sound from the intake. So when you accelerate, the noise that emanates from the engine is more in the tube than through the box.

I may be wrong or skewing the truth in some way (it's been a while since I installed my f-sport intake) but I can't imagine it being there for any other reason. Even the shape of the OEM tube itself hints at that. The construction of the f-sport is designed to give a direct flow of air to the engine for performance and the hole at the bottom of the box is to allow you to hear the intake. The point someone was trying to make earlier was that the performance gain is so small that you do this aftermarket modification strictly for an audibly sportier car.

^ Yup, that extra part on the stock intake is the resonator so it's quieter.

^^ it should fit any 2nd gen IS. It would probably not fit the 3rd generation IS.

all second gen 2006-2013 are the same in the engine bay
the ad only reflects 06-12 probably because when they began selling the item, it was only 2012

joe z intake, fsport intake pipe, and all the 2IS short ram intakes actually fit the 3IS
