Catch Can Benefit ??anyone Have 1 ??

Default Catch Can Benefit ??anyone Have 1 ??

i have a cusco catch can laying around would it do any benifit towards my is250 ?? really helped on my g35 .. I just want my 250 to run the best it can .. Ive came across a thread some one said yes and the other said no useless lol kinda hard to find info on this engine . I just want to make sure if i install im not messing up anything or by installing it causing future damage

i dont see a benefit running one on these cars. might do more harm than good. i would love to add a bit more of engine bling in my engine bay but not if it's not functional or maybe even harming the car.

Unless you're boosting the motor, it'll not do anything.

I'd venture to agree. Boosted cars tend to have far more blow by than an NA car. I don't see it hurting anything, but not helping either

I ran one before and all it did was make a hissing noise

Probably because you had a vacuum leak.

A catch can will not hurt your engine. However, they are typically more effective on older engines where blow blow by is more prevalent.

Vented or sealed? I ran a vented setup on my boosted Honda; thing was, I couldn't hear it over the open dump tube. LOL!

No vacuum leak, confirmed with a few others running the same setup the increased hissing noise (very minor). Yes it worked in catching blow by, but ultimately removed it

Sealed - it was a DIY home depot catch can using a husky part. Granted if i had bought an expensive one, maybe there would have been no hissing.
