Cool Intake, Headers, and Exhaust

A friend of mine is getting himself either an 06 or 07 Lexus is250 what he basically wants to do is get himself some PPE headers a Injen intake and a High Power HKS exhaust system. Will these mods gain him much power or is he looking at being just a split second faster? He just wants to build a car that will be around 30HP faster than stock and wont affect his fuel economy that much. Let me hear you guys' thoughts on this so I can tell him, he isn't registered on here?

A good drop in filter, JoeZ Intake tube, PPE headers, and JoeZ catback exhaust will probably be the best he can get w/o boosting. On a good day that might add 30hp to the crank.

If he wants to be quicker, he should do all that, and get lightweight wheels/tires and change final drive gearing to get more torque.

If he wants to be quicker he should just buy an IS350.

It's >100 hp more for 10% more cost.

Versus paying for headers, intake, exhaust,, and parts installs on a 250, which will cost him 5% more but only add 20-30 hp.

Now that's thinking ahead.
Heck since he hasn't gotten it, if he wants to go really fast, he could get an IS-F.

Or is that thinking too far ahead?

He better be a responsible teen driving That car at 16....but by The sounds of him wanting to make it faster, maybe not.

The cost of him getting the intake exhaust headers Wheels will be the same or more Than paying 10-12k for is350

I remember when I was 16, I managed to get 2 speeding tickets within the first year of owning a 250.

Live and learn, and keep speeding off the roads.

Yep, look at used high mile 350s and you will see some in that range, mostly those have been in an accident thought.
