Im going to buy collins clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. When its time to replace I wil rebuy from collins OR if he's unavailable then I will send collins wore out clutch and pressure plate to a custom clutch shop and get them to make it how I want it. First time im going with his setup because he's engineered all the spacing bugs ect.....ect. He's told me that hes spent time, trial and error, parts and labor, to make this work 100% so I trust him and his degree for this first go round at the least. Pass on going through what he's already done.

The tranny was $420 + 100 shipping, adapter plate was $429 shipped lol. So I have about 1k invested. Ive estimated around $3000 rolling down the street.

$520: Tranny
$1100: Adapter Kit (http://www.ebay.com/itm/2JZGTE-2JZ-1...cda30d&vxp=mtr)
$105: Clutch release bearing adapter: http://collinsadapters.com/index.php...and-cd009.html
$145: Nissan slip yoke http://collinsadapters.com/index.php...-slipyoke.html
$200-350: Driveshaft (quoted)
$130: Bell housing 1/2" mill (quoted + shipping)
$200-300: Shifter (estimated)
$100: Tranny mount adapter (estimated)
$50: Miscellaneous Bolts (estimated)

$400-800: Replacement used transmission
$1699: Replacement brand new transmission (http://www.z1motorsports.com/350_g35...oducts_id=3342)
$290-500: Replacement clutch and pressure plate (quoted)

Im not buying anything else until a fit attempt this weekend. If it doesn't fit then I shouldn't have a problem re-selling this transmission and adapter plate to someone whose it will fit. If it does work then I will have saved a ton of money, and only need to upgrade to a monster clutch. Im not gonna be stupid and buy all this stuff at once in hopes that it will magically work towards my purpose haha.

Haha, you and I have the same mindset, only you have more parts than me already, so now I'm watching your thread. If it doesn't work, ill go back to the ar5, as I know that tranny will work, it just requires more parts, and has 1 less gear. But it will take 800whp according to the solstice guys who are doing it.

Collins messaged me the bolt sizes that I will need to mate the transmission to the adapter. These are the bolt sizes BEFORE the bell housing is milled down. Im not milling the bell housing until a confirmed fit. So at a 1/2" of bell housing mill the bolt sizes will go down 12.7mm from the sizes listed below. This is 2JZ-GE to CD009 with the Collins adapter plate bolt sizes.

Regular Hex Head Bolts:
(5) M12-1.75 x 55mm
(2) M10-1.5 x 35mm

Also this is the writeup I will be using for removing the w55 transmission: http://my.is/forums/f65/is300-how-in...55-w58-342710/

Have a lot of longer extensions ready for the top 2 bolts on the w55 bellhousing. I actually put a hammer to my trans tunnel to make swapping easier down the road.

When are you thinking of test fitting?

Default CD009 will not fit a IS300 chassis.

You can forget putting a cd009 in a is300. Starting with the firewall. The opening is too small for the bell housing. The entire tunnel is conformed tightly around the w55 and the w55 is a hell of alot smaller than a cd009. For it to fit you will need to cut the entire tunnel out starting at the firewall and going the full length of the cd009. The cd009 wont even get close enough to make the stab let alone lift up into position. Its missing 3"+ the entire length of the firewall. Even if you moved the 2jz forward a couple inches you will still not make the cut near the shifter opening. A hammer just wont be enough as the entire tunnel is way to small. This can be done by cutting out your current tunnel in its entirety and welding in a new tunnel to the floor (drift car / race car). 6k for a v160 is out of the question so im dumping this project for a better chassis.

Adapter plate with 2jz hanging as far as it will go on loosened motor mounts and subframe. Imaging lifting the 2j into driving position....no chance.

IS300 tunnel is around 5-6" most of the way wheras the cd009 needs 8" just to fit 9" to be comfortable. These measurements are with the padding removed, even less with shown padding.

W55 barely fits, cd009 no chance.

sad news, this wouldve been perfect, but yeah the tranny is just way bigger in size compared to the POS w55, definitely intended for a bigger tunnel, our compact 4 door floor just wont do, gotta thank you for taking your time and trying.
i guess its back to messing with the AR5 now.

Ar5 time. I know drift motion will discourage you from doing it, but a newer version of the r154 that shifts super nice is better than the crappy r154.

Ar5 isnt a option just like the R154. Its 1000whp to get in the door. A 800whp IS300 is a big stepdown from my turbo 4 cylinder.
