R154 isnt even a option cause it feels like junk. I can buy 10 used cd009 for the price of 1 used v161 and have triple/dual synchros with 1000hp+ capabilities. Not saying its better than the v161 but it is a really nice transmission. Im going all collins parts, he has it all except transmission mount. http://collinsadapters.com/index.php...es/toyota.html
I have a few parts in for boost but this transmission needs to go in first.
Youtube: AIRFED318 is where the vids and such will be.

The first thing I want to do is make this shifter go directly on the first U joint with a swivel out of the transmission instead of the extension U joint. Which in theory would fix some of the major problem with this swap of the shifter location being 5" further back than the w55. I saw in a 350z thread that the first U joint can be punched out and removed so we shall see today. Ille post pics.

I just pulled a few measurements and things are getting tighter! The normal shortened shifter setup wont even make the stab on a IS300. The first u joint is going to have to be the connection point for a modified shifter that curves enough to make it near the 30" mark. My other findings is the width of the CD009 is a little over 9" wide at 22" back from the bell housing level with the shifter bracket and 10" wide at 2.5 inches below that point. I couldnt accurately measure the is300 in that area, but it doesn't look that wide, so im pausing everything and gonna do a test fit with the tranny and adapter plate only.

Mount starts at 22" and ends at 25", and should cover enough area for an adapter bracket.

From mount to mounting location is just under 3", but that means nothing until I can measure what it is on the cd009 with it mounted in.

Heres what I think will make the 30" mark. I will be able to more accurately draft it when I do the test fit and pull more measurements. This will adapter will sit higher than the stock is300 but theres plenty of room going up.

Nice planning So 30" back from the end of the block is where the shifter is supposed to stick thru the body?

Yep. The physical window is 28"-32". 30" should put you in the stock location. There is no way the current adapters will go @ 34.5", I like my cupholder.

Lol, I literally just realized that stripe haha. But this is a sleeper build so its gonna stay OEM cosmetic wise so the pinstripe stays.

Why not have shift linkage that bends to the appropriate length machined or cut and weld the factory linkage to fit?
