Default MAP-ECU3 Questions, Concerns, ETC

Well, I am making this thread today to try and get peoples person opinions on the particular product. I have done lots of reading up on it on various forums, and opinions are mixed. But what I did notice is the age..most of those posts stating that persons issues with the MAP-ECU seemed to be all related to particular issues with the older units, specifically, its inability to adjust timing. But with the MAP-ECU3 that seems to no longer be an issue.

So I guess what I'm really asking is, everything else aside, is this unit any good in your opinion? I have a 98 GS with all the Aristo goodies. Pretty stock for now, but with this car, I'm only looking to make in ***** out trim 500whp or so ideally. And while I will totally agree that a standalone is the absolute best option, I do not think I really need it for what I consider a moderate HP goal.
