Hi guys! Been a long time IS200 user and I really love this car. I'd rather not sell it and maintain it in my stable (or maybe have some swaps in the near future)

Until recently, my car does not shift to 4th gear. which creates a lot of problem going into highways or sustaining speeds of just 100km/h.

I've approached a couple of mechanics and shops but nobody has been able to figure it out.

Any ideas?

If worse comes to worse, what is my best bet? Get a new auto tranny? if I'm swapping in a manual tranny, can I get some parts for it? or should I just go straight and swap out the engine as well for some 2JZ GTE love + manual tranny?

I do plan to keep the car for a long time as I love everything about it.

Do you have a is300 or a is200? Your location says CA so I am assuming is300.
Is300 w55 has an issue with 4th gear. weak syncros. It was a factory problem. Some people got it replaced some people live with it now.

if its the auto it will definitely be cheaper to swap in another auto.
