Well, you COULD put the 20" wheels on, But withought decent sidewalls on your tires, you won't have flex that can help with traction when accelerating. Plus, any big pothole, or unmaintained railroad trax will jack your wheels right up. Plus, 20" tires are friggin expensive, and you could get a nice shiney turbo upgrade instead.

I didn't realise until recently, that the bolt pattern on the exhaust side of the N/A head is totally different than the TT head on the Supra's.. I wonder why, and does this mean a significant difference in the head itself? I assume the cams are different, but what about the valves? Anyone know?

Default the pattern is different

exaust bolt pattern is not the same.. intake manifold is crap too
i believe they do sell a kit from powerhouseracing.com for NA SC to be turbo.. should be the same for a GS.
not too sure about the valvesprings, probably different.

I abandoned 1st plan for stock motor to go turbo due to variances between the motors

exactly, pot holes can jack up the 2, 3 G dollared rims just like that if driving's not taken seriously cautious.... < that'd be me :P >
