Don't take this personally but static revs are nothing like an engine under load. The motorcycle forums do this all the time and and people mod/buy stuff only to find its not what they thought. Real world rides/drives like pulling a hill or banging gears helps us out.

Bike going through the gears mp3 audio. Apparently you'll have to quote the post to get the links. WTF!

I definitely concur that the exhaust note is different when revving from Park or Neutral vice when the engine is under actual load (sounds deeper and louder). The point of the vid that I made was for others to hear the 2GR-FSE rev beyond the stock 6700 RPM limit which most haven't had an opportunity to hear.
I'll be at an autocross event this weekend so hopefully I'll capture clear audio of this setup (PPE Headers/F-Sport Intake/F-Sport Exhaust/ECU Tune w 7200 RPM) while at WOT.

7200 RPMs is not rough on the engine at all. In fact, on the 2GR-FEs used on the Lotus models, the stock redline is 7200 RPMs and those vehicles are built for track abuse. I've had my tune for over 2 years with several HPDE track days and haven't had a single issue with the motor. There are other IS350 owners with the 7400 RPM option but that's considered to be at the upper limits before risking valve float. As I've yet to see any IS350 owners track their car on a road course with the 7400 RPM option, I prefer the 7200 RPM limit as a safety measure.

I am a couple years in without any problems (yet) with a 7400rpm limit. It is likely that this is harsher than the stock rev limit, but I doubt it will cause any problems as long as you keep up on your oil changes and use quality oil.
