Idk if I'll be able to make it to the dyno shop tomorrow after all. I had my friend drive my car while I heard it from the outside and I noticed that my waste gates open really early without building up all 7.5 bs of boost which is what I'm aiming for. I'm gonna have to turn up the boost somehow on these internal waste gates. Not sure if that's possible...
You can hear the waste gates open even at light throttle http://instagram.com/p/isSqx6N8RO/

^^Yep, thus a major - for the remote turbo setup.
I hope you were able to fix everything up!
Sidenote, must be fun trying to get your lowered 2IS up in that rack! My friend has the same type and when he bled my brakes for me, it took ALL of the spare pieces of wood around to get it up on the rack w/o messing up the front lip.

Looks like it's all fixed now. We added a small bracket to pull up the lowest part of the piping. Tomorrow I'll be relocating the oil tank to the front of the car instead of the trunk. I want to clean everything up and hide the tank, pumps, hoses and wires that way it's ready for whoever ends up buying the kit.
Yeah it's a pain in *** to put the car on the lift. The mechanic had to make special ramps just for my car specially since I'm there all the time and I also send many slammed cars his way for exhaust work.

^This was one of my biggest fears about having the cats still in place. Going to a catless up-pipe was one of the first mods on the old WRX's just for this very reason.
Any chance you can just break out the rest of the cat? If it's coming apart on its own as it is, I bet a pry bar and a hammer would take care of the rest on both headers.
Did you ever pull your plugs or get a wideband?

I don't understand why chunks would just start breaking off. Is it just a normal wear and tear item? The car does have 142k on it so I'm assuming that's the case.
Either way I'm just gonna buy some eBay headers and install those. Im sure it's better for the turbo airflow anyway.
I haven't had a chance to buy an A/F meter or pull the plugs.
Prior to the whole turbo install I did start noticing that my exhaust sounded a bit different as in something was clogging it. So this problem may have already been present but it got worse the moment I started pushing the car harder. Good thing the turbos are fine as the biggest chunks hit the turbo inlet before all the other small pieces.

Will gutting the cats hurt or help anything? I know on other platforms guys would do this when they didn't want full race headers and or needed to keep a stock looking cat in place for emissions. Anyone have an idea if a few HP could be gained just removing whats left of the cat material?

Well, you are in Cali...so you do have to worry about emissions. Bummer, over here there's no emissions testing or yearly/bi-yearly check-ups by the state.
^In this case, having chucks of the honeycomb hurting flow in the exhaust setup will net you some small gains by removing the cats and replacing them with the ebay headers. The good thing here though is that after the cats are removed altogether and the ebay headers are installed, I'm certain you'll be able to tell the differences between the two. With turbo setups, the more free-flowing the setup, the better and more efficient it will be. NOT the same with an N/A setup; you need to keep some back-pressure.
