Default More cold air intake information

A few years ago in a different car I owned we had this same cold air intake conversation. I had a digital thermometer that read and recorded with two sensors. I put one sensor in the factory cold air intake, the other under the hood where an aftermarket intake would get air. At 30 mph the air temperatures were the same. Below thirty the factory intake was colder. In traffic the factory set up was best. Out of traffic it made no difference. Now remember, this is Hawaii so COLD air is 80'.

Aloha,
Larry

This is really good info man! I was wondering myself if short ram intakes really suffered all that much from the hot temps under the hood. But it makes sense that it only happens at slow speeds with no new air coming in.
