Thumbs up Got Pearlpower's tranny cooler kit installed!

Spent a very pleasant morning at Hennessy Lexus in Gwinnett County with VVT-i helping (?) him install Pearlpower's tranny cooler kit. I HIGHLY recommend it. It's very well thought out. It includes:

- A B&M racing cooler (you can have a shiny polished one or have it matte black like I did - didn't want any bling bling shining through the grille)
- 2 perfectly custom made 'bent' metal tubing pieces, rubber hoses
- Custom made mounting bracket to attach the cooler to an unused existing mount point
- Brass fittings
- Machine screws / bolts
- Even plastic caps to prevent unnecessary tranny oil leaking while changing the hoses
- DETAILED color instruction manual
- template for where to drill a couple of holes through a plastic piece that's hidden anyway so it won't be ugly.

It requires patience to install and my fittings did leak initially until we finally tightened them down enough so it was dry. I drove the car home this afternoon and checked it and it's all dry so it's definitely hooked in fine. The cooler was quite hot so it's definitely getting rid of heat which is a good thing!

I got the cooler because I have the upgraded torque converter and figure a cooler is cheap insurance for the tranny even if it's not really necessary.

Sorry, no pictures of the install, but I might be able to take one or two of it now installed.

Anyway, BIG thanks to VVT-i again for doing the bulk of the work. And a BIG thanks also to Pearlpower for making such a professional kit.

Your welcome Bit, but you did about 60% of the work too, including installed the trans. cooler and throughly read all the instruction, drilling the holes..etc. It's quite a learning expereince for me too and we both nervous about the trans. fluid leaks, but everything went well. We have to tighten the nut 1/8 of a turn at a time and checked for the leak until it stop. Then, Bit went for a test drive and we recheck again. No leaks at all from the lines.
A big thump up for Pearlpower for doing this for us and I think he'd spend a lot of hours to do this. Everything is well lay out and designed. The instruction is well printed with user friendly language(not the one that you can't understand WTF they're talking about). Great job Lee.
It's good to see Bit's in action and a big smile on his face. I think it's well worth for the money if you have TC, turbo or upgrade valve boby. No performance added, but an insure to your transmission.

Bit, pardon if I missed something... Has pearlpower assembled a "tranny cooler kit" to share with us fellow Club Lexians? When might this be available? Of course, I should probably ask pearlpower...

Bit
Do you have pictures of the install?
Don't forget to polish the lines first.

No good pics yet, sorry. It's hard to get a good pic too since everything's in pretty tight there.

Maybe this weekend...

Oh and polish? What's that?

A cooler will definitely work, but I think PearlPower is currently redesigning the kit so you may need to just go for a cooler and regular rubber tube plumbing. Not too difficult.
