Default F sport intake

New to the forum and have a question...

I have a 2014 IS 250 F Sport and have ordered the new F Sport intake, has anyone added this to their vehicle?

I know the car has a built in noise enhancer...not sure if that's part of the stock intake? I'm hoping to gain a little performance and better sound out of the new intake. Hoping not tool loose any with the change.

Thanks!

It'll reduce the sound drastically because the fsport intake replaces the whole pipe & sound enhancer and is just a simple tube which will sound like a prius. As far as performance, you won't really notice any gains. In fact, the car will feel a bit slower because it'll be quieter.

Doesn't the F Sport intake bottom have the other hole in the front? If not, which box does have the cut out? I am confused!

How much did you pay for the intake?

It'll be quiet for sure unless it comes with its own air box. If all you are getting is the fsport pipe and filter, then it'll be nearly silent. That's how the Joe z pipe was on my car. Post your experience with it though, if the f-sport is louder than stock, i'll be the first in line for it. My takeda gives out engine light so it's either stock for me or something similar.

Yup, the pipe replaces the sound resonator and still uses the stock airbox. Whisper quiet

Well...acutally...just found out that there is not a f-sport intake available for the 2014. Lexus of North Miami is selling a modified version to fit the 2014.

Given the noise of the stock intake.(sport mode) -which sounds pretty good already... probably going to put the money towards the exhaust.

Thanks for the feedback!

You guys realize that that side of the engine is pretty much identical to the 2IS....if the intake fits the 2is it will fit the 3is. All the box holes and holders are in the same spot. I've texted about 4 different intakes and sand results

It doesn't fit (unless I was completely out to lunch), but I ordered the box by itself and the cover tabs are in a different location. The hole on the 2014 stock box is larger as well.

I think these pics illustrate the clips in different locations.

Good to know, thanks for the information. Could you measure the 2 holes in the F Sport box and then the one larger hole in the 2014 box? Curious if the total air intake area may be the same. If the 2014 totals the area of two holes in the F Sport that would be great and it would be completely cold air too.

Aloha

I'd have to check. I could be confusing the holes too. Looking at the picture, the holes might be the same size if the front hole is the smaller one on the F-Sport box.

The 2014 air box is smooth like the F-Sport (no ridges).

I would suggest you go with GReddy or Takeda!
