I don't want that, I AM a passive driver. Just saying that the shifting pattern of the car feels weird and wrong. Every car I've ever had, holds in gear longer when the car needs it (like when climbing a hill) and then upshifts quickly (when the car is accelerating downhill for example). This car does the opposite, how is this possible?

The transmission holds gears going downhill to help maintain speed for you that way you're not riding the brakes.

Under normal driving, it constantly shifts to the highest gear possible to keep the rpms low and in turn helps you save fuel.

If the shift points aren't right for you then you'll have to drive the car harder. Like others have said, the harder you drive it, the later it'll shift especially once it learns your style.

Default Thanks for that information

But sometimes when I driving at 60 mph them let it go the gas and them push the gas a little rpm goes to 2000 rpm to 2800 rpms no sense to me, I dont know if the aftermarket AEM cold air intake cones with sensor, this sensor might be bad???

No need to disconnect the battery to reset the memory, just pull the ECT fuse out from under the hood (fuse box on driver side behind headlamp, under plastic cover) for about 2 minutes and voila! Just drive it after to relearn values.

i just brought this model yesterday, felt this when i was this driving but the other gears felt fine. prior cars i had didnt have this type of shifting. tried the battery trick but didnt disconnect it for 20 mins or so. going to try the fuse box method. also.. i parked my car on an steep incline today and when i went to the car to drive i was rolling back... soooo its giving me a feeling its the trans... hopefully not.

Default Removal of fuses

Wait around a minute
Re-insert the two fuses
Install the fuse box cover

Boom and you're done. You will not have any memory loss or the issue with the windows.

I did this and see a very subtle change but it's still doing it. Not sure what is going on as this came out of no where.

Default Help!!

I'm having a issue a issue with my is250 my daughter borrowed it which was my first mistake but she drive to store got in and got on FWY and all of a sudden the NAV screen went off and radio stopped playing then the speedometer lights went out and she said she had to press on gas all the way to make it drive and the steering was locked none of this makes sense because I've had this car for 2 years and only have had to change the tire it's been a great car no issues until now and nothing lead up to it. She had the car jumped and it turned on and did same thing. I had her replace battery and she drove it home but on the way the car jerked and lunged forward. I got in it and found that only when you come to a stop or slow all the way down does it aggressively down shift. I had someone come plug it in and it read shift silinoid D. So I went to a trans shop and they said most likely I need to replace transmission then I took it to another shop and they said I need to replace the cars computer. I just did the fuse removal and not seeing that much of a difference it's subtle less aggressive. I think it's a electrical or computer issue with transmission? Did anyone resolve or find out what is going on?
