2JZ Build in 2001 Lexus GS300
Whats up guys! I actually haven't been on here for a very long time so I have a decent amount of questions for the build I am currently undergoing. Im looking to do a 2jz-gte swap in my 2001 Lexus Gs300 and had a few questions about the trans. This is my daily driver and of course i want it to be rather fun so Iv'e been hearing alot about the 4L80e trans that would hold up for the amount of power im looking to do.
I was trying to see if anyone out there has done that with a 01 gs300 or know what all is entitled with putting a 4l80e on a aristo 2jz. Ive read up on the adapters and bell housing that will be required from ATF but my main question is I really would like to know exactly what is required with it being my daily and the amount of HP im looking for which will be 600.
I also want to keep this vehicle automatic im really not looking to switch it to manual so i want that to be known in case anyone ask why don't I convert.
Time and labor is not my concern because my buddies (certified techs) and I will be doing the swap and build, like I said, I just want to know what all is entitled so i know what the cost will be for me. Any help would be great guys and sorry in advance for any inconvenience this will be my first Lexus build coming from a Honda enthusiast that i use to be.
Feel free to PM me or email me as well it'll help alot (ztec954@gmail.com) would prefer someone who has done this or is very highly mechanically inclined so i get a 100% accurate idea as to what all needs to be done.
Thanks

Are you doing the JDM Aristo Swap? If so then you can have the A341/340 trans built by ATF and it will hold up to 600hp as long as you don't abuse it. That would be the way to go. The 4L80E is a stronger trans, however, it requires a lot of work to make it fit and would be much more expensive. It also eats up more power than the Toyota trans as well. I had a Boostlogic built Toyota trans in my Supra for years and it performed flawlessly. I have heard the ATF version is even stronger. My vote would be for the Toyota trans.
