Default Where is the fuel Filter in the gs400??

Does anyone know where the fuel filter is in a 2000 gs400. Also, how often should you replace it? thanks

I'm not sure where it is, but I bet it is to be changed at the 60K - check your O/M.

Default Fuel Filters

It's under your back seat. My tech told me that it's a good idea to change it @ 60k but they typically last 100k if U use a good quality gasoline.

The GS doe not have a fuel filter. It has a fuel strainer only. Depending on which tech you speak with, they go from 60k to forever. I have seen it and it is simply a strainer connected to the fuel pump assembly, so I still ponder what gives with the lack of a fuel filter on this car. Just about every EFI car out there has a strainer on the fuel pump like the GS. They also have a regular fuel filter. Odd that the GS lacks one, however the car is still going strong, so I can't complain.

Can anyone confirm this lack of fuel filter on a GS?

Kinda makes me wonder how they can "replace" it... per some dealer's 60K service...

My maintenance log book says Inspect Fuel lines and conenctions, fuel tank vapor vent system hoses, fuel tank band, and also fuel tank cap gasket.

I called the dealer and tried to order one. They said no filter. Just a strainer which does not need to be replaced. Odd but true.
