Question Make your engine roarrr??

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make the GS3's engine purr a little more than the stock meow?? I don't wanna add an aftermarket exhaust, and I don't want it to be loud. Just a little meaner and more solid than stock....

Intake is a good option because it doesn't 'roar' for cruising, just when you stomp the gas. I got the K&N intake and I'm really happy with it.

Ok, I have heard of this K&N filter.. what about a TRD? Same deal? As far as when revving... is loud? Say louder than the Borla exhaust??? I just took off my Borla and want the quiet... but just a little deeper sound. I mean it's not like a 4 banger.......

Mine is not just a filter (I used to have just the drop in filter), now I have the whole K&N intake.

Changing just the filter will not make hardly any difference (maybe slight increase in air performance and slight increase in sound).

TRD doesn't make an intake, just a drop in filter.

Borla was too loud for you???? If it was the carbon fiber one I can understand since I've heard that's very loud, but if it was the regular Borla and you found it too loud, don't do anything, since I'm not sure what would make you happy.

Rock, you said the Borla's were too loud?? Damn, and that is one of the quitest mufflers I know for the GS... You may just want to go with a intake instead.. Last year I put back on the stock mufflers and drove around with just the intake to see how it would be and I think you might find that more to your liking.. So you may want to go with either a Weapon-R or a SRT intake.. If I had to choose again I'd go with the SRT since it also has a piggy-back ECU and you'll get more HP from it...

...ECU tuning would help. Also, try getting a 256 duration exhaust cam with an adjustable cam sprocket. Happy tuning.

You could keep the stock mufflers and cut out the two resonators it makes a small difference. and its cheap to do 40-100 dollars at any muffler shop.

Rockero - your thread title is make your engine 'roarrr' but here you say you want it to purr a little more. Which is it? Why don't you want an aftermarket exhaust? One like the RMM is very mild.

Cool Roarrr

Yeah, i guess I am a rookie. I want it to purrr and maybe a tiny tiger roar. I just want it to be quiet when accelerating. But not sound like a 4 banger when I turn the ignition.... But good point bro. My bad...
