The original location was a PITA to get to, so I decided to relocate it for easy access in case it went again.

Yup same here. Still waiting to see if they will have a recall on the part since its a pretty common issue. I joined the IS200T club from Taiwan on facebook and i've seen multiple postings about the vacuum regulator.

I’m getting my car back from PPE tomorrow. Our intercooler inlet is 2.38 inchs while the 328i n20 is 2.5 in. Looks like our intercoolers might be too restrictive...

I feel like a custom intercooler can be made for less than $400 too

Take some pictures of your new charge pipe setup.

I definitely will!

So it looks like the n20/328i uses 2.5in turbo pipe, chargepipe and intercooler inlet stock. After our compressor we have 2.18in which leads into the 2.25in chargepipe into our 2.38 intercooler.
Our engine or turbo isnt underpowered it’s restricted by our turbo piping and intercooler. I wanna see if PPE will make a bigger turbo elbow (turbo pipe) which is in between the turbo compressor and turbo muffler/muffler delete. It appears to bolt on and off so it might actually be a pretty easy upgrade. I feel like increasing that from 2.18in to 2.5-3inch’s all the way too the throttle body, then we would probably see 300+ whp
The next thing I wanna find out is our stock throttle body size. The n20 has 2.75inchs stock...

Sheddy, your video looks like boost stays full longer then mine. I seem to loose boost even after WOT. Video was done from a stop sign from brake to WOT. No brake boost just going from brake to full peddle.

Yea mine does the same thing as yours. sheddy's boost seems to hold longer for whatever reason. I hope its not the vacuum regulator, im on my third one >:l

I'm not too sure why that is happening. I am still running the stock mid-pipe and axle back, so you guys should see higher boost levels than me, but i did recently changed my vacuum regulator, so its still in good working order.
