I’ve tried reaching out to JRC, but they didn’t give much information. They also know of my reviews and testing on this thread. I will wait for RR Racing to start work on the 8AR-FTS.

Is it confirmed that RR is going to start working on our engine?

lol these are my plans exactly. Once the lease on her car is up I'm giving the IS to her and getting a Camaro SS 1LE.
Problem solved.

lol. I knew what I was getting in stock form. I admit, I did not do enough homework and foolishly assumed that there was aftermarket support for the platform. I thought I could do a simple tune / bolt-ons and possibly an upgraded turbo and get a nice 320+ whp.

I'm no stranger to cars. I had a full-bolton /tune 2009 Nismo 370z as well as a stage 2 09 335i coupe in the past.

I fell in love the with the exterior of my 200t Fsport and especially the beautiful red interior. It's a pleasure to drive feels wonderfully balanced when cornering.

SO yeah i knew it was gonna be slow out the box but should have done my hw instead of just assuming I could mod it as easily as an STI

There is aftermarket support it’s just not to our liking just yet. I fell in love for what the 200t was, a reliable good on gas fun luxury car that’ll cost just about as much to own as a corolla in terms of maintenance. In my previous post I was quoting 2.0t power Bmw, Vw/Audi, Hyundai, Ford etc which do around 250-260 whp fbo. We are basically there however we are literally probably 1 more psi away from hitting 260whp. We can pull alittle more power but if you’re looking for 300whp on a stock turbo then forget about it, I never expected that. To me, 260whp is an aggressive fbo/tune figure even though 98% of us are stuck at 245whp. Same for every manufacture developing 2.0t, other than Honda At the end of the day we are still putting down more power on less boost because we have a higher compression engine than everyone else, besides Bmw. The 370z sti evo’s fbo and tune are usually around 300 and 335I can go up to 400whp yeah that’s out of the question. I’m pretty sure someone is out there enjoying 345whp in Japan or tiawan apparently the owner are being stingy not showing it off maybe trying to be ‘exclusive’ If some of us would spend the money and not cry then we would have one by now, even I had the oppurtunity but someone bought it first..... wtf

if you check out my IG page Lexus_turbo_ I’m pretty sure the video of the blue is200t I posted from taiwan has the 345whp.

I've been reading this thread for a week doing research on my next car. I was looking for a used 2016-17 IS200t, is the car I like the best and has the Toyota reliability, but dam it is slow, even the 208hp Q50 is faster. Other options are BMW 328 (don't like the interiors and not very reliable) and Q50 (exterior is not the best). I'm frustrated with the few options of tunning the IS and even more when a tunned Civic 1.5 stock makes 225whp and 250wtq (I wish I had 25 years again). I'm grateful to all the members that invest money and time making the necessary research on this car. Well, if I decide for the IS, intake, BMS and downpipe should be the route and pray not to find some enthusiast in a Accord on the highway.

Or, you could buy the IS350 and the stock 208bhp Q50 isn't faster.

That is awesome for real, this is such a capable engine. Such a shame there is not much aftermarket support.

I really wonder why...i see so many 2nd generation IS's modded up. I wonder why there is such low demand for serious power mods for the 200t. It's like nobody knows about it or something.

I was never interested in Lexus at all until I saw the 2017 F sport 200t that I purchased. It is such a beauty, I fell in love instantly.

I've owned a 350z, G35 coupe, S2000, Nismo 370z and a 335i coupe. My IS is my favorite car so far in terms of driving feel. I'm so comfortable letting the rear end slide out in this car. Something about it just feels so balanced and confidence inspiring. All it needs is an extra 100 whp!!!
