I really wonder why...i see so many 2nd generation IS's modded up. I wonder why there is such low demand for serious power mods for the 200t. It's like nobody knows about it or something.

I was never interested in Lexus at all until I saw the 2017 F sport 200t that I purchased. It is such a beauty, I fell in love instantly.

I've owned a 350z, G35 coupe, S2000, Nismo 370z and a 335i coupe. My IS is my favorite car so far in terms of driving feel. I'm so comfortable letting the rear end slide out in this car. Something about it just feels so balanced and confidence inspiring. All it needs is an extra 100 whp!!!
It’s becoming a headache performance wise. These are some of the better proven dyno results we’ve seen so far.

Jrc hit 251 whp 290wtq (downpipe only)
Jrc hit 301 whp XXXwtq (modified turbo only)(no downpipe)
Jrc hit 331&345 whp 332wtq (modified turbo, downpipe, intake tube w/ stock air box)

Tti hit 246 whp 27Xwtq USA (downpipe, full exhaust, intake)
Tti hit 266 whp 289wtq EU only (downpipe, full exhaust, intake, chargepipe)

The problem being is that even though JRC has proven dyno results it’s been challenging to get them into the US market via communication.

Tti has been great in communication however they’ve only been able to break into the 240’s for the US, while on the other hand europe has 260s.

The numbers are there and they’re very impressive compared to a 2.0t Infiniti, bmw, Mercedes, Audi. It seems we have the most demand in the US for tuning the 200t however everywhere but the US has a max tune.

I think the best option is to contact a local fabricating mill that specializes in building turbos and have them build one for you. I’m pretty sure that the TTi stage two tune requests over 20psi of boost on the stock turbo (even though it does much less; US) Have your own 8arfts turbo built locally/installed. If you add the TTi stage two reflash on top of the modded turbo we would probably get into the 300whp range fbo. We just haven’t had anyone do it here in the US because they’re 40-50k sedans. It looks like it’s gonna take a real goat to pull this off for merica

Default Stage 2 plus tune

Anyone have installed boost gauge? Got mine installed a week ago,I found out that NORMAL mode makes about 18-19 psi peak and it will hold at 16.5 - 17 psi to red line while in Sport mode It will only peak at 15-16 psi and it will hold 13-15 psi... i asked Jon from tti if it makes difference with the tune in NORMAL or SPORT mode but he hasn’t reply yet..

Circled in red shows max psi hiting 290wtq @19.1psi. The lower line shown by the arrows shows it hit 262whp holding 15.5psi of boost.

I find it hard to believe you’re hitting 18-19 peak and holding 16.5-17psi. Holding 16.5-17psi at 5,800 rpm would produce over 280+ whp. One of our members in the EU hit 262whp @ 15.5psi. Its best just to post a dyno or video

If TTI produced 262whp at 15.5psi then per 1 psi it produced 16.90001725 whp. Which is similar to JRC they produced 331whp at 19.5 psi, 16.970092whp per 1 psi. In lamest terms that’s very very good because the Honda Type R only hit 300whp at 20 psi of boost (stock) it does 15whp per 1 psi. If the Honda type R only held a maximum of 15.5psi then it would only do 232.4 whp while we sport 262whp

Unlocked throttle control? So no more crazy lag when you get on it from a stand still ?

Sounds promising, need some dyno numbers though. That acceleration video looks pretty close to my BMS tune

Im not a tuner but if the turbo perameters (when it builds boot and how much) have changed a new tune would need to be done even if the tune request 20psi. I could be wrong.

I have my eyes on the new Supra or perhaps a used M3.
Get a Supra. M3 is played out.

Touche! lol... seems you want big power so a car like that is the way to go. Wait for the new 340 M.

or the new RS3 is ridiculous fast with mods too. just a but cartoonish looking.

i'm just kind of sick of BMWs. way too common in the modded crowd. everyones just like you. i'd rather get a new supra. BMW underneath and cool unique sports car on the outside.

or if you really want to shoot straight to the top. Porsche. No substitute

The power output on the new 340I (B58) is pretty impressive. I am waiting till Toyota releases the official specs on the Supra.
Lexus will definitely need to make some revisions on the IS to stay in the competition..i say a 3.0 or 3.5 twin turbo.

yeah they will probably use the Turbo V6 from the new LS or some de-tuned variation of it.
