Not sure, we'd need to compare someone with JB4 numbers vs mine. I don't know if JB4 would even be an upgrade.

Default What tune to pick?

I was wondering what tune I should pick i was thinking the jb4 because it keeps the warranty but I recently saw that race chip was making a similar one to the jb4 but I don’t know anything about race chip stuff. I have a remark exhaust and thinking about getting a Injen intake.

Damn, I finally got the "OK" from the Misses to let me purchase the OV EROM Tune . I had to convince her that the tune was for, "my safety and the safety of our kids". Unfortunately, I missed the Labor Day Sale and OVTuning states that the tune kit won't be available for purchase until LATE THIS YEAR or EARLY NEXT YEAR . I'm hoping they come back "In-Stock" sooner rather than later...

I currently drive a '17 IS200t and my wife has a '18 NX300. I believe my IS200t is outright dangerous to drive in certain situations! Lets just say it DOESN'T instill confidence during Lane changing or Lane merging. The IS200t feels neutered compared to my wife's NX300. Toyota must have noticed the complaints/issues and fixed it in the following model year. The only complaints my wife has for the NX300 is the rougher idle. I currently have a JB4 installed on the IS200t and plan to install it in the NX300 when I upgrade to the tune. Do you think OV Tune will fix most of my complaints and hopefully more? I'm trying to gauge my expectations here. Any feedback is appreciated.

Even though I have the stage 1 (gen1 jb4) im extremely satisfied.
low to mid power but since our turbo is super small our top end doesn't change.
i highly recommend it for anyone that has warranty like me.

Two plugs and you're done!

It is not worth the upgrade at all. I upgraded and then on top of that I had to buy the bluetooth module so I could connect through the app on my iPhone WHICH the app ALONE costs $30. The whole setup isn't worth it trust me haha.

I agree with this. Due to our micro turbo, I doubt there will be huge benefits for a tune over the JB4. Once a turbo upgrade is released, this will be a much different story. Without a larger turbo, the gains will be negligible. I'd say a tune will help slightly more with throttle response based off of the reviews posted so far. Also, with the new OV tuning box, you could technically add "gurgles" as well but that's purely a sound enhancement.

the JB4 is not worth it at all. I tested them both on my old JCW and RC300 and they provide very disappointing gains if any.

A tune is definitely the way to go. I have the TTi tune right now and its much better than the JB4 throughout the whole rev range especially mid-range. The tune also gives you an option for the TCU mod, which gives you much snappier shifting and response. I will be testing the OVT one soon also to compare.

I don't feel like any tune is really worth it on this car, we literally get very very little for the price of these tunes IMHO. The JB4 piggyback just gives me that tiny amount of extra torque that's enough to make this car tolerable in the 0-60 pulls out on the streets.

What tunes have you tested?

Just the JB4. I’m not saying that these ECU tunes are totally useless, but we aren’t getting faster by any means compared to other platforms. For me the money on these tunes isn’t worth it with how limited the platform is due to the turbo. I’m sure the tuned throttle and transmission logic etc is nice but if I’m going to pay money for a $600+ tune it better give me much better power and torque this is just a personal opinion.

Fine to have an opinion, but if you haven't bought or tested any of these tunes....Yikes.

I have bought and tested. The tune wins by a huge margin. Also, the OVT tune is only $200 more than the JB4, so its a no-brainer to get the tune.

I have a used JB4 for sale collecting dust if anyone wants it, but since the tune came out nobody wants them...

The TTi tune put down 262whp 290ft-lb on pump gas, with the stock turbo. The JB4, didnt even come close...

Oh wow. Was this your result? Also, all the reviews of OV so far seem to show little to no results on track times and feel. Would like to see what you think when you get it. Maybe even some dyno numbers for comparison.

Yeah the reviews so far seem like it’s nothing super special thus why I have no interest in these ECU tunes. I also don’t want problems when it comes to warranty.
