how do these tunes work? are they like piggy back systems? Ive always just flashed or custom tuned the stock ecu.
These piggy back systems just sends a higher voltage signal to the sensors to allow more boost and fuel.Where are you located in Florida? We can meet up so you can try the RaceChip on your car.
My RaceChip ultimate is up for grabs I'm asking $430 shipped...please message me if you're interested. South FL members you can contact me to try it out
what differences do you notice between the two units, the one you are selling and the one you are currently using?
The VRTuned unit feels a bit stronger on the high end powerband since it also controls timing (VVTI engagement point) via cam shaft position sensor. Both units work very well IMO but one of the main differences is that the RaceChip retails for $647 and the VR for $800.

Would you say it's worth the $800?
If so, I may order one myself

I think $800 is still a bit steep but I was able to get it at a discounted price since I did the install pics for Vividracing. I do have my RaceChip for sale with similar power gains for half the cost!
Has anyone considered a custom harness like Dezod or Boomslang along with the AEM EMS v2? I have been pretty interested in the new IS200t however also have been kicking around the idea of the new Fusion Sport. Seeing as how the Fusion already comes with almost 100 more ponies and the tq is an even higher gap I am pretty torn. I have always wanted a Lexus and now have the ability to own one, but want to amximize the investment of my EMS especially since I have a buck of $$$ tied up in it. I will be a new resident of the DFW area as of the 1st of Sept and am still struggling to find a reputable shop there that handles the Toyota brands that knows what they are doing. If I can find one then I could very well just move my EMS back and forth from my IS if I bought one to my Yaris whenever I wanted and just change the tuning profile. I am assuming that the 2L mill has a lot more to offer than just around 270whp when I have been able to get more out of my 1.5L Yota mill.
I am currently running the Vividracing (VRTUNED) piggyback.
I notice your strut mounts are facing the incorrect way. Well at least according to the spring DIY guide. I'm not sure if you know or if it makes a difference. The strut mounts (shock mounts) did not seem to be off center so it seems it should be fine? I'm guessing you tinkered with yours at some point. =p
Unrelated.. Also anyone know if the burger Tuning chip is making progress?
Burger Tuning says they are still waiting on connectors. They also say they have good news as far as development goes but won't announce it yet. Maybe more gains? Curious to see how durable and capable these engines are. Wonder how much the turbo can squeeze out safely without over burdening it.
